In November 2004, representatives of JCF, UJA-Federation of NY, and Dorot gathered to dedicate the Information and Program Services Center in the Dorot building on the Upper West Side of Manhattan. The Center, which houses the database that enables Dorot to track its 32 programs and thousands of volunteers, was a community gift from JCF to Dorot. At the ribbon cutting ceremony were (from left): Joel Kazis, co-Chair of the Dorot Board; Philip Silverman, co-President of the Dorot Board; Joan Bronk, the Executive Director of UJA-Federation Capital Gifts and Special Initiatives; Andrew Tisch, JCF President; Paula Resnick, co-President of the Dorot Board; Vivian Fenster-Ehrlich, Executive Director of Dorot.

At the dedication, JCF President Andrew Tisch said that as the donor-advised fund of the Jewish community, the Jewish Communal Fund has a commitment to give back to the community. JCF’s Special Gifts Fund is used to support critical needs in the community. The Dorot project was selected for its broad reach among the elderly, both in New York City and further afield through its University Without Walls program. "We salute Dorot for being the nation’s largest volunteer organization serving the aged and for being a role model for agencies in other parts of the US and indeed the world," Mr. Tisch said.

Dorot’s Executive Director, Vivian Fenster Ehrlich, lauded JCF’s efforts and support. "You shared our vision, and generations of elders and volunteers will benefit," she said.
