INVOLVING FAMILY AND FRIENDS
There are numerous ways that you can use your fund to allow family and friends to experience the satisfaction that comes with charitable giving.
If you or someone in your family is celebrating a special occasion – the birth of a child or grandchild, Bar/Bat Mitzvah, graduation, wedding, or anniversary – you can invite family and friends to make a tax-deductible donation to your fund or you can suggest they establish a fund of their own.

CHILDREN'S GIVING FUND. The Children’s Giving Fund Program offers families the opportunity to establish a charitable gift fund on behalf of a child (up to age 18). The fund functions as a “custodial” account, with a parent or other adult authorizing the child’s grant recommendations until the child reaches 18 years of age. When the child reaches age 18, he/she may assume all the privileges of recommendation and the fund will be subject to the administrative requirements of an adult fund. A Children’s Giving Fund enables families to share the joys of charitable giving, pass on meaningful values to children, and discover new ways of celebrating important milestones in a child’s life.
A Children's Giving Fund may be established with gifts totaling at least $1,800. Minimum grants are $36.
WEDDING FUNDS.Couples may establish a fund at the Jewish Communal Fund and invite family and friends to make tax-deductible contributions in any amount.
Wedding funds may be established with gifts totaling at least $5,000. Minimum grants are $100.
MEMORIAL FUNDS.A meaningful way to honor the memory of a loved one is through the creation of a Memorial Fund. Through the contributions of family and friends, a legacy of charitable giving may continue through the generations.
Memorial funds may be established with gifts totaling at least $5,000. Minimum grants are $100.
COMMUNITY FUNDS. The Jewish Communal Fund allows groups to establish donor-advised funds for various purposes. For example, we have established charitable funds for a synagogue, a country club, and a Holocaust-survivor group. These funds provide a way for donors to demonstrate their caring and generosity as a community.
Community funds may be established with gifts totaling at least $5,000. Minimum grants are $180.
CORPORATE FUNDS.Businesses may wish to create a donor-advised fund to make corporate giving simple and efficient. In order to establish a corporate donor-advised fund, the corporation must provide a resolution signed by the officers of the corporation naming the individuals who will serve as recommenders on the fund. Any requests to add or remove recommenders on the fund must be submitted by corporate resolution. If at any time there is no living recommender, or the corporation no longer exists, all income and principal remaining in the fund will be transferred to the JCF Special Gifts Fund. The JCF Special Gifts Fund is an endowment of the Jewish Communal Fund that provides funding for select projects in the Jewish community. Distributions from the JCF Special Gifts Fund are made at the discretion of the Board of Trustees.
Corporate funds may be established with gifts totaling at least $5,000. Minimum grants are $180.
