INVESTMENT OPTIONS
Your contributions to the Jewish Communal Fund are placed in your choice of approved investment portfolios,* consisting of a fixed income fund, a money market fund, numerous managed equity and equity-indexed mutual funds, and several privately managed investment accounts. The Jewish Communal Fund has full discretion over the investment of account balances and reserves the right to change or revoke the current investment program and procedures at any time. In addition, the Jewish Communal Fund has the right to change a fund's asset allocation at any time.
You may wish to speak with your financial advisor about a strategy for investing the assets in your fund. Generally speaking, equity and high-yield funds are subject to market fluctuations and are more appropriate for donors who seek long-term growth of capital to maximize the amount available for grantmaking over time.
Any income that accrues to the fund is income of the Jewish Communal Fund that may be distributed to qualified charities at your recommendation. You are not subject to tax on that income, nor are you eligible to take further charitable deductions with respect to that income.
A Fund Investment Recommendation form must be submitted to request an asset allocation for your fund. You may request a reallocation up to four times per calendar year. If your recommendation is accepted, the Jewish Communal Fund will implement such change as soon as practicable after receipt of your form.
When you complete the Fund Investment Recommendation form, you should indicate whether you wish all future contributions to be invested in accordance with a fixed asset allocation (and rebalanced monthly) or whether you would like to submit an investment recommendation for each contribution that you make to your fund. If you choose the latter, you will need to submit a Contribution Investment Recommendation within 10 days of the date of gift. If you do not request an allocation for your contribution, and have not elected monthly rebalancing, your contribution will be invested in the TempFund.
Donors with fund balances over $1,000,000 may recommend particular investment options not currently offered. Such requests will be reviewed by the Jewish Communal Fund on a case-by-case basis. Please call the Jewish Communal Fund for additional information.
